Obi, Otti shake Owerri to the foundation for Achonu

Alaba Market Owerri Shuts Down As Peter Obi, Alex Otti, and Senator Athan Achonu Visits

Imo State on Tuesday virtually exploded as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, stormed Owerri for the zonal rally of the party’s flag bearer in the November gubernatorial election in Imo State, Senator Athan Achonu.

Obi was accompanied by the Governor of Abia State, Mr. Alex Otti, and other party chieftains, including Chief Chime Nzeribe and Hon. Tochukwu Okere Member representing Owerri Federal Constituency, and Attorney Mathew Nwogu, Member Representing Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency.

The highly enthusiastic crowd was huge, as both loyalists of the party and supporters of Achonu trooped out in their thousands to hear their preferred candidate speak.

While speaking, the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 presidential election, Mr Peter Obi, and the Governor of Abia state Alex Otti told the members of the Labour Party that they must remain awake and not sleep if they must protect their votes in this Saturday’s governorship elections.

He said “Imo needs a caring governor like Otti in Abia. Good government is good for Nigerians. He urged the Imo people to vote Labour Party, because we care for human beings, and the Labour Party is poised to develop the Imo state as we are doing in Abia. On Saturday, go and vote for LP, Papa, Mama and Pikin,”

Also speaking, Governor Otti noted that he entered Owerri with great thanks, telling the people that the dye was cast. He urged the people to remain vigilant as a rat does not eat what belongs to those who are awake.

“Cast your vote and monitor it; do not go to sleep. If you like sleep from now till Friday but stay awake on Saturday till the vote count up to the collation centre. Nothing is better than a good government.”

While speaking, the Labour Party candidate Senator Athan Achonu urged the IMO electorate to come out en masse and vote for the Labour Party this Saturday. He promised that he would ensure all their votes were protected as there would be enough security to help protect votes.

He told them “Do not just vote; also follow your votes to the ward collation centers, and from there to the Local Government Collation Centres. There will be vehicles to convey people to follow their votes. The Army police and DSS shall also follow the votes. Don’t be afraid of the presence of security operatives. They are there only to protect the people and their votes. Only vote riggers shall experience their wrath.

“There shall be no more burning of houses; no more killings in Imo. What we shall see henceforth is development, development, development.

“You can see the good work Otti is doing in Abia. I shall begin mine in Imo in January. I have already told you what I shall do. There shall be local government autonomy; constant electricity within one year, etc.”

Before arriving at the Kanu Nwankwo Sports Centre venue, the campaign train was received at the Alaba Market Owerri where thousands of Imolites hailed them.

The reception at the markets, especially Alaba Market, was so massive it was difficult to address the highly elated crowd.

Imo is ATHANABLE. Athan Achonu is coming
