Numo Farms Nigeria Limited announces the call for entry for the 2024 Youth Empowerment Grant Scheme for Mbano (Isiala/Ehime Mbano LGA) Youth. The Grant is to support youth-driven initiatives that inspire education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable community development.

This year, and for the second time Numo Farms is partnering with Mbano Youth Summit 2024, hosted by the Mbano Mbano Big Family. Hence, the grant will be presented to winners at the Summit holding November 9th, 2024 in Owerri.

NUMO Farms, (owned by Senator (Ikemba) Nnejilenanim Achonu), a leader in sustainable agriculture and community development, is proud to contribute ₦10 million in grants to support youth-driven initiatives across the two Mbano LGAs. NUMO Farms believes in the power of youth to drive sustainable growth and development.  

Grant Categories
The grants are in the following categories:

1) Entrepreneurship & Business Startups
This grant supports Mbano youth with innovative ideas, existing small businesses and scalable business models.
Grant Size: ₦1M (2 Individuals)

2) Educational Development
This grant covers support for educational fees (tuition only for Mbano Youth studying in Tertiary Institutions in Imo).
Grant Size- 1M Naira (20 Students)

3) Skills Development
This grant is for vocational training. Youth seeking to enhance their knowledge and skillset or those who wish to buy basic tools (Mechanic, Tailoring, Grinding Machine, etc) to start-up their small business can apply.
Grant Size- 1M (20 Individuals)

4) Innovation & Technology
This grant supports innovative technology solutions and startups with a focus on solving community challenges.
Grant Size: ₦1M (2 Individuals)

5) NUMO Farms Grant For Agriculture & Food Security
This grant is dedicated to supporting young individuals with innovative projects in agriculture. NUMO Farms is investing in the future of agriculture in Mbano.
Grant Size: ₦1M (2 Individuals)

5) Creative & Cultural Industries
This grant supports youth in the creative arts, entertainment, fashion designing and cultural sectors looking to grow their work and impact the community.
Grant Size: ₦1M (2 Individuals)

6) Food Packaging for Export Grant
This grant is designed to support young entrepreneurs focused on food packaging for export.
Grant Size: ₦2M (5 Individuals)

Eligibility Criteria
1) Must be a youth from Mbano (age 14-40).

2) Must have a clearly defined project or business idea aligned with the chosen category.

3) Demonstrate a commitment to making a positive impact in Mbano.

4) Willingness to be accountable and provide updates on grant utilization.

5) Must not have benefited from a similar grant by Numo Farms before.

Submit The Following Documents:

2) A project/business proposal (max 3 pages), including the following details:

4) Expected impact on the community or target sector.

5) Budget breakdown and how the grant will be used.

6) Timeline for project implementation.

7) A personal statement (max 1 page), explaining your motivation and commitment to the project or business.

For Students interested in educational support, SUBMIT a 200 words original essay with topic “My Vision for Mbano” to the email: numofarmsgrants@gmail.com

Only students from Mbano with EVIDENCE OF ADMISSION into any of the Tertiary Institutions in Imo State AS WELL AS RESULT OF THE LAST SEMESTER can apply.

For Skills Development, fill the data form. Then Submit application to numofarmsgrants@gmail.com stating the type of vocational training, the name and contact person of the organization or business where you will undertake the skill training.

Selection Process:
1) Applications will undergo a preliminary screening.

2) Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for a pitch session to present their ideas to a panel of judges.

3) Winners will be selected based on criteria including innovation, feasibility, impact, and commitment.

4) Judges decision are final.

Grant Award Ceremony
The winners will be announced and grants awarded on the 9th November, 2024 at the Mbano Youth Summit, where Numo Farms will celebrate the success of the youth.
