IMO GUBER ELECTION: Owerri Zone LP Women declare ‘Operation Owerri Zone For Sen Athan Achonu’

The Labour Party Women Leaders across the nine Local Governments of Owerri Senatorial Zone gathered on August 9, 2023 for a strategic meeting geared towards galvanizing support for the #TakeBackImo Governorship project of Sen Athan Achonu (Akuruoulo Ndigbo).Welcoming the Women, the Imo State Woman Leader of Labour Party Ugoeze Carol Onwubiko declared that with regard to the November 11 Imo governorship election, Owerri is totally behind the LP candidate, Sen. Achonu. She went further to tell the women present that to achieve this goal, there’s a need to move down to the various villages and preach the Aku ruo ulo gospel of Sen Athan Achonu.Also, the Director of Women Affairs Sen Athan Achonu Campaign Organization, Dr Mrs Ngozi Egbuchulam who represented Lolo Aisha Achonu, wife of the Labour Party Governorship candidate Sen Athan Achonu, while speaking informed the Women leaders that the essence of the gathering was to strategize and strengthen the efforts aimed at victory for Sen Athan Achonu & Rt Hon Tony Nwulu ticket in all the polling units, entire wards and LGAs in Imo State and Owerri Zone in particular, for the November 11, 2023 elections. She equally assured the women leaders that the emergence of Sen Athan Achonu as the next Governor of imo State will guarantee women inclusion and participation in governance.She concluded by re-assuring them of the Campaign Council’s total support and partnership for a better Imo State where women will be actively involved in the governance of the State.Various Executive Members and leaders of the Labour Party took turns to address the gathering to take back Imo.In attendance were Dr Queen Ifeoma Osuda (Deputy Chairman Imo State Labour Party), Chief Sir Pauly Udechukwu (Secretary Imo State Labour Party), Dr Mrs Ifeyinwa Ogueri, Hon Evang.
