The State Working Committee of the Labour Party and the Senator Athan Achonu Campaign Organisation have constituted the Labour Party Governorship Campaign Council for the November 11 Imo State gubernatorial election.

The newly constituted campaign council will be inaugurated on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 ahead of the commencement of campaigns for the election.

All the members of the newly constituted campaign council are expected to be seated at the venue, Senator Athan Achonu Campaign Headquarters, 158, MCC Uratta Road, Owerri, Imo State, by 11:30am.

Also expected to attend are all Local Government Chairmen and Cordinators.

The Director General, Senator Athan Achonu Campaign Organisation, Engr. Chime Nzeribe, made the announcement in a press release on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

According to Chief Nzeribe, “our campaign is in full gear and we are very prepared to ‘Take Back Imo’ State, hence we are inaugurating our campaign council made up of eminent Imolites and great party men.

“You may recall that the State Governorship Campaign Council has Hon. Tochukwu Okere, Member, representing Owerri Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, as Chairman while Hon. Mathew Nwogu, Hon. Chikwem Onuoha
and Hon. Chika Mmadumere, will serve as Deputy Campaign Chairmen, respectively.”
