In a recent video that circulated online, one public affairs commenter, by name Magnus Oraka, made a profound observation about Gov Hope Uzodinma.
He said that by merely looking at his face one will know that he’s intellectually empty. Long before that scathing remark, the former PDP spokesman, who’s now in the governor’s camp, had hit hard on him over the same inherent weakness. In a particular episode with the Channels TV crew , Collins Opuruozor had said the governor lacks both the intellectual content and legitimacy to claim to be governor of the state.
With specific reference to his intellectual deficit the ex spokesman argued that it was the reason he ran away from all public engagements in which governorship candidates in the 2019 Imo governorship election took part in. According to him, there were three of such engagements but Gov Uzodinma never attended any of them.
These two are not the only people who have raised serious concerns about the governor’s intellectual capacity. There is out there in the public space this lingering perception that the governor is an intellectual lilliput and that, that is a fallout of his very poor educational background. Some sources who claim to be highly knowledgeable about him, have claimed he never saw the four walls of secondary school. They insist every other claim to the contrary is false, fake and contrived and would fall as the Chicago claim of the president fell when subjected to intense scrutiny.
If one had harboured some doubts about the many visceral observations about the governor’s obvious incurable intellectual laziness, then his conspicuous and deliberate absence from Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri debate and peace accord signing has completely nullified that sentiment.
If there is one candidate that has every reason to be at the event, in flesh and blood, that candidate is Gov Uzodinma of the APC.
As the organizers of the program The Justice, Development, Peace and Claritas Commission, JDPC, National Voter’s Drive Coalition and the Imo Advocacy Group, said at the occasion six candidates were invited. The six they further disclosed were chosen through a public opinion poll, following which letters of invitation were sent to them.
As the incumbent governor it’s obvious Gov Uzodinma as protocols demanded must have being the first candidate whose letter was officially and properly delivered.
Besides, having held the mandate of the people for almost four years now, the governor more than any other candidate is supposed to grab with two hands every available platform to showcase his report card to the Imo electorate.
This is even moreso as he claims he has performed well. The question begging for answer now is, why would someone who said that he did the job he was recruited to excellently, be afraid to present his scorecard?
In the final analysis, Gov Uzodinma’s deliberate absconding from an all important event as the debate of Sunday, 22 October,2023, exposed two things.
It is final confirmation of what Oraka, Opuruozor and many other pundits have said and still saying that the governor suffers from worst form of intellectual bankruptcy. And because of that minus he is always afraid to engage intellectually. You can only see people like him participate in such brain tasking events, only when those organizing them, had rigged it for them prior to its commencement.
It also rubbished his much touted performance claims. A student with an excellent result is always proud to flaunt his result. It’s the same with everyone that excelled in whatever task he is engaged in all over the world and Gov Uzodinma can’t be an exception. As a renowned grandstander, there is absolutely no way, Gov Uzodinma would have missed that event if he believed fervently in his four years scorecard.
He doesn’t have any credible and worthy report card to present and that should not surprise anyone, because you can’t give what you don’t have.
Uzodimma’s absence at this important gathering organised by reputable Catholic church and other reputable organisations did not come as a surprise, rather, it is a testament to his expressed disdain for procedure, proper planning and bespoke development design. It further proves that he never had a working template in 2019, and still does not have any at the moment. All he has is intense alternative plans to rig the election as revealed by videos coming from communities where his aides are seen buying voters cards from poor and ingnorant voters.
